Polish for Kids: From Scattered to Fluent
At this age, kids typically arrive already forming phrases and short sentences at home — but tense and case endings are still shaky, which is expected for heritage speakers this young. They can make themselves understood; the accuracy just hasn't caught up yet.
This 10-week live cohort builds that accuracy through play — each week anchored to a theme (family, animals, food, daily routine, weather, shopping, and more), with new grammar patterns layered in gradually through songs, games, and repetition rather than rules. By the end, your child can introduce themselves and their family, talk about everyday things like food, animals, weather, and shopping, and pull it all together into a simple spoken story.
Each 50-minute live lesson moves at a young learner's pace: a story or song introduces new language, hands-on games make it stick, and a simple speaking or drawing-and-labeling task puts it to use. Grouping shifts weekly, so every child — from quiet listener to confident talker — gets activities matched to where they are. The course ends with a storytelling capstone — a simple group-told story or mini "show and tell" where your child demonstrates everything they've learned for family, plus a small certificate to mark the milestone.
• Target Age Group: Ages 6–10 (Other age groups available)
• Skill Level: Intermediate (Basic conversational Polish already in place; building everyday fluency)
• Program Duration: 10 Weeks (October 15 – December 17)
• Live Class Schedule: Thursdays (Other days available) GMT +11 | Sydney 4:00 PM | Perth 1:00 PM | Warsaw: 7:00 AM (Oct 15–20) · 6:00 AM (Oct 27 onward)
At the end of this course, the student should be able to: introduce themselves and describe their family, count and use colors and animal names, talk about food likes and dislikes, describe their daily routine using common verbs, talk about the weather and seasons and what to wear, make simple polite requests such as when shopping, and combine everything they've learned into a short spoken story.
*NOTES: Child must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Classes are non-transferable. For more info please read our "Terms & Conditions"
Lesson Structure
Grammar isn't taught as rules here — it's built through pattern and repetition, so speaking Polish "sounds right" long before your child could ever explain why. Typical 50-minute lesson shape:
- 10 min: warm-up + review of last week's theme
- 15 min: new vocabulary and a grammar pattern introduced through games and songs
- 15 min: guided practice — a speaking/listening activity built around the week's theme
- 10 min: production task — a short dialogue, drawing-and-labeling, or mini-game putting the new language to use
