Polish for Teens: Own Your Roots & Your Voice

By this age, every student's starting point looks a little different — some have never said a word of Polish, others picked up fragments at family gatherings without ever needing to use them out loud. This course doesn't treat that as a problem to fix; it treats every student the same way: as a teenager building a real, usable skill, not memorizing a script for the classroom.

Ten weeks, covering the ground that actually gets used — greetings, family, numbers, food, daily routine, home, free time — with the grammar heritage speakers usually pick up unevenly (case endings, verb aspect, gender agreement) getting deliberately reinforced instead of left to chance. Nothing here is learned as a rule to recite; it's repeated in context until it's just how the sentence comes out.

Each 50-minute class opens with a quick warm-up, introduces new language through conversation rather than drills, then hands most of the time over to the students themselves — paired and small-group speaking, a short reading or listening piece, a quick close. The course ends with every student standing up and introducing themselves in Polish — not a script they've memorized, but something they can actually do, with a certificate to mark it as real progress.

• Target Age Group: Ages 11–15 (Other age groups available)
• Skill Level: Beginner
• Program Duration: 10 Weeks (October 12 – December 14)
• Live Class Schedule: Mondays (Other days available) GMT +11 | Sydney 5:00 PM | Perth 2:00 PM | Warsaw: 8:00 AM (Oct 12–19) · 7:00 AM (Oct 26 onward)

At the end of this course, the student should be able to: introduce themselves with name, age, and where they're from, count and use colors in context, talk about their family, order food and drink politely, describe their daily routine and tell time, describe people's appearance and personality, describe their home and where things are located, and talk about hobbies and free time.

Lesson Structure

A steady rhythm each week gives the group something to lean on, and leaves room for real progress fast. Typical 50-minute lesson shape:

5 min: warm-up (greeting, quick review game)
15 min: new grammar/vocab focus, taught communicatively, not through drills
15 min: guided practice — pair/small group speaking via breakout-style turn-taking, or a game
10 min: reading or listening activity tied to the theme
5 min: wrap-up + intro of voluntary homework
